It is with deep sadness that I write of the passing of our dear friend, Michael Woodgate, affectionately know to all of us as simply as "Woody".
Woody, originally from Boroughbridge, England, has been the head coach of the champion ULM Warhawk Water Ski Team since 2019. Prior to being named head coach, Woody served as a graduate assistant for the Water Ski Team and and the Kinesiology Department at ULM. He earned his M.S. in Exercise Science in May, 2020. He was also a coach at Bennett's Water Ski School, as well as an accomplished skier.
We come together to mourn his unexpected passing. Woody was truly everyone's friend, and he was one of the most passionate advocates that Collegiate Skiing has ever known. There are no words to describe Woody's love and dedication to the sport, his team, and the community as a whole. His passion for the ULM Water Ski Team was always apparent, and we are keeping the Warhawks and the Woodgate Family in our thoughts and prayers. Gone way too soon. Rest easy, dear friend.
