February felt much longer than usual despite being the shortest month of the year. The cold, rainy weather, combined with the loss of two cherished members of the SCR, Floyd McCreight and Al Rucker, made it feel like it dragged on. As soon as I receive information about any visitations, funerals, or celebrations of life, I will share the details. But now that March is here and spring has sprung, we look ahead with renewed energy, making exciting plans for another fantastic season of skiing, just as both Floyd and Al would have wanted!
Please get your sanctions listed on the AWSA website and firm up your officials by April 1st if at all possible. As we roll into the season, it is important to have things nailed down at least a couple of weeks before your event. If anything of significance is changed on your sanction once it has been approved, it will automatically be rescinded, and I will have to go in and again approve in order for your scorebook to be downloaded. So please, do your best to get your sanctions squared away early!
Please visit Usawaterski.org and log in to your Dashboard page to be sure you are up to date with all the requirements for renewal or advancement of all of your officials ratings.
Collegiate tournaments and summer ski days have been added to the SCR calendar. Take a look and get involved!
Finally, I am happy to present the 2025 Regional and National Officials. This is definitely a talented group the region has put together here! We are still in need of a few folks willing to travel to California and represent our region at the Nationals, August 5-9,2025. Please feel free to recruit or reach out if you have any questions. This assignment does come with free accommodations! I sure wish I could go! Click here to see the lineup 2025 Appointed Officials
